I’m usually a pretty easy-going person, I’d like to think. However, like everyone, there are just a few things that really get under my skin. Like traffic. So imagine my excitement this morning when I leave my house at 7:30 a.m. with the goal of being to work by 8:00 a.m. (absolutely doable) and as I’m about 10 minutes into my drive…dead stop. No flashing lights, no cars off to the side. Immediately, I’m frustrated so decide to get off the highway and take the side streets into downtown (not really having any idea of what way to go…instead, I just focused on the Terminal Tower and headed toward that).
Then, I’m stopped again. So, of course, while I’m literally SITTING in traffic, I take out the trusty iPhone and load Twitter to see what’s going on. To find out that 20,000 people are headed to the Q (Quicken Loans Arena for you non-Clevelanders) for a motivational seminar. Featuring Goldie Hawn (among others…this was just the one that really cracked me up). The upside: literally everyone was late and I tweeted with some fellow frustrated Clevelanders.
Next, pet peeve. When Starbucks runs out of frapp base during half-price frapp week. Um, hello? Do they not know I planned my afternoon around that half-price happy hour with a fellow co-worker? Thank goodness I can be easily pleased by Starbucks and instead had an coffee drink.
And now last pet peeve: why is it that people can not respond, in a timely manner, to a text, call, email or Facebook message? I know, people are busy (myself included) but honestly, how hard is it to respond to a simple question with a yes, no or I don’t know. Especially, if you’ve been on Facebook and/or Twitter…if you’re on those particular social networking sites, don’t you think your phone probably works too? Especially if you are updating your status from your phone?
And now I’m done venting. Anyone else peeved?
This makes me smile at least:
