I’m Just a Girl

Most people who know me will attest to the fact that I’m an extremely girly girl. Which often surprises people, as I am the girl who has a male best friend and hangs with the boys every Sunday during Browns season. But besides the Browns, I also love make-up and fashion. I seriously could spend tons of money at a great make-up counter.

I’m the type that has her “must-haves” when it comes to make-up and beauty products. I tend to be pretty picky and the one counter that has never let me down: MAC Cosmetics. I know the make-up artists by name, have their business cards and am updated when new products are coming in or when there’s a big event weekend coming up (i.e. this past Thursday and Memorial Day weekend).

I thought I’d break down exactly what I use on a day-to day basis.

It all starts with a clean face and even though I’ve never had problem acne, I use Pro-Active. This stuff is my go-to. I rarely get zits and have never had issues with this (which is rare since I have sensitive skin). Next, I always and I mean always, use a moisturizer with SPF protection…again sensitive, fair skin. Lately, I’ve been using an Oil of Olay product that’s been fabulous.

Foundation is always an issue for me but I think I’ve finally solved it (thank you MAC counter). Check out this Foundation Finder quiz. It’s seriously perfect. I’m using the mineralized satin finish foundation and loving it. Again, also has SPF protection.

Other must-haves from MAC: Tinted Lipglass (it really doesn’t fade or smear!)

I’m also a fan of their eyeshadow (ask the artist at the counter for some tips – they never cease to amaze me when they pick out new colors that I never would have considered).

For Blush, I have been using a MAC product but my heart will always always always belong to NARS on this one. For over 5 years, I’ve been dedicated to the shade: Orgasm. No, not lying. This shade is perfect for just about everyone I know and occasionally they have a complimentary bronzer to go with it (also available in a lip color). I really have never found a color that I love more and that is more natural. I usually hit up Sephora for that purchase, as well as many others. (Though, I never have been a fan of Super Orgasm…personal opinion – stick with the original.)

What are your go-to products every morning/day?

And again, in honor of Sugarland’s upcoming concert…another fave:

I love your blog! Have you ever tried urban decay eyeshadows? They seriously rock!

I do have a couple urban decay shadows. Seriously though, my heart belongs to M.A.C. I love my M.A.C girls. They know me by name, shades that work best for me and call me when new products come in!

I love MAC! Especially their eyeshadows and lipglass!!

I am a Mary Kay rep, so I use a ton of their products as well. I especially love MK’s tinted moisturizer with SPF. I use it in place of foundation on a daily basis, and it works great! Combined with their mineral powder (loose), you get nearly the same effect as foundation and powder without taking the time to apply it all.

Urban Decay is also amazing. I jumped on the NAKED pallet bandwagon this winter, and I absolutely love it! I can totally see why they kept selling out so quick!

But, ummm, don’t get me started on hair products 🙂 I’ve had a small obsession with them since high school, but my favorites are Paul Mitchell super skinny collection (I have super thick hair) and Ojon dry shampoo.

Go visit your MAC counter for their new eyeshadow that just came out. It’s a liquid type of consistency for lack of a better word. Use it with one of their synthetic brushes and it has this awesome finish. I just picked it up in this light pink shade and also a bright gold. Very cool stuff.
