This is going to be the first in at least two posts about the West Side Market 100th celebration weekend because it was just that amazing. Really.
After Hurricane Sandy ruined the week a bit, causing a little more ruckus than I would have preferred, I was more than ready for the weekend. Even just being at work on Friday, I was antsy and counting down the hours to the weekend. It was a big one afterall. Starting with the Cavs game with Kimberly. Yes, they lost. By a lot. But the upside was having great drinks, Bar Symon food and club seats. Plus Kimberly and I had plenty to catch up and discuss.
Post-Cavs, we headed over to Crop for the People’s Party. Organized by a few of the local chefs, the People’s Party was another opportunity to celebrate the 100 year birthday of the West Side Market and raise additional funds for renovations to the Market.
Crop was packed (with more than 1,000 people!), the food was around every corner, music was blaring at each level and the drinks were flowing. I was excited to run into so many friends, including Jen, Ashley, Leah, Joe G. and Kenny. Everyone was there not just to have a good time, great food and drinks, but also because of a genuine love of the West Side Market and Ohio City. It was a great reminder of how much I love this city and how happy I am that I decided against venturing west after graduating.
Staying out till 2am that night probably wasn’t the smartest idea, but was totally worth it!
The People’s Party was a blast! Great seeing you. Can’t wait for your recap of the Gala!
Nice seeing you! We had to get up early the next day and were feeling it too. But I agree – totally worth it!!
