Fabulous Friday: A New Fave

What a week it’s been. Talk about up and down. But I think we’re finally ending on a good night. After all, how can I complain? Awesome job, fantastic coworkers and an amazing city. No complains from this girl.

So I recently heard this song and have completely fallen IN LOVE with it. Love, Love, Love. So enjoy this Friday. And let’s all have a drink and a fantastic weekend. I know I’m ready for it!

In Memory

What a week in Ohio. I’d like to express my condolences to the families, students and the Chardon community at the tragedy that happened yesterday. No words will heal the pain that community is feeling but I know myself, and many others in Cleveland and around the world, are thinking and praying for that community.

Remember to hug your family and friends in the days ahead and remind them how much you love them.

Life is short.

And We Jumped Back

Yes, finally…

After weeks of searching for a dress, finding shoes, booking a hotel room and prepping for the best party in Cleveland, it was finally Jump Back Ball time. And to be honest, the party did not disappoint.

And let the pictures begin (yes, you will see a ton of pics with Alana – our group was pretty fantastic).

So many good friends. So many good drinks. And we won a kick-ass raffle prize (restaurant gift cards to Rocky River Brewing Co., dinner for 2 at Table 45, facial, hotel room at the Wyndham and the best part – 4 loge seats to see Come Fly Away at Playhouse – which I really wanted tickets to!).

Can we start counting down to Jump Back Ball 22 now? Cause I can’t wait.

JBB Countdown

The long weekend is officially over and it was low-key but fantastic. I needed a weekend to just get things done.

Important things.

Like shoes for Jump Back Ball. And makeup from MAC for Jump Back Ball. And my dress needed to be altered (yes, I’m 5’1 and even with my kick-ass heels, I still needed a good 2 inches cut off…).

Only a few more things left to do (hair appointment tomorrow and spray tan on Thursday) and I’ll be set to go for JBB. I loved seeing how many other people were running JBB errands this weekend and picking out dresses. Needless to say next weekend is going to be fantastic!

Whew…

What a week! This is the first week where I’ve felt like my week was absolutely jam-packed with things going on either at work or after work. But I like being busy so it worked well.

Overall, it was a fantastic week. Even though Valentine’s Day sucked (as per usual), I had some great lunch dates with coworkers and friends, a very fun mixer at work followed up with Happy Hour at Map Room with coworkers. A few drinks later, a couple of us were just a little late to this year’s ADDY awards. Some great winners this year so congrats to all of the great creatives out there in Cleveland!

After a very fun happy hour with The Dawg’s Dish and another coworker, my weekend was off to a great start.

(We had a few of these….)

I literally ran a million errands on Saturday, including picking out JBB21 shoes, having my dress altered, getting fancy new Coach glasses, grabbing a new pair of Nikes (The BFF used to be a speedskater and coach…which meant years and years of free Nikes – my bank account and I miss that) and doing a Target run.

Speaking of, who else has a problem shopping at Target? I literally went in for about 4 things and came out of that store $75 cheaper. And again – only need 4 of the things I purchased. And I purposefully avoided the home decor aisle which gets me every time.

The rest of the weekend will be devoted to wine, beer, shopping and doing working from home. This is the first year in many that I’ve had President’s Day off and I plan on enjoying it.

What’s everyone else up to this weekend in the CLE?

Monday…already?

This weekend flew by. I really can’t even remember everything I did. Except, I had a really, really good weekend.

I finally caught up on my house “chores” that I had been putting off during the work week, took care of some bills, saw “The Vow”, went to church and breakfast, spent hours shopping for a Jump Back Ball dress, and most importantly, spent 3 hours in front of the TV on Sunday night watching the Grammys. I know, slightly ridiculous but I loved every minute of it and was happy to unwind.

Speaking of the Grammys – my favorites from the night:

Adele – Goddess from the night. Seriously. Flawless. And the make-up…I die!
Carrie Underwood – She typically is always my favorite and last night she was her usual classic self.
Julianne Hough – she reminds me of Jennifer Aniston. I just think last night was one of her more memorable looks as of late. Fan.
So all in all – not a bad weekend at all. And after work, I finally found a JBB dress! Now I’m officially excited for the weekend with Chris and Jump Back Ball 2012!

Fabulous Friday – Run

One of my most favorite bands is Sugarland. Seeing them in concert last year was one of the highlights of my summer. The concert was insane and Matt Nathanson was to die for. And this duet – I love. It’s just fabulous and completely melts my heart. Happiness!

Super…Commercials?

First, I apologize for the lack of blogging as of late. Lots going on!

Second, yesterday was a holiday for many Advertising pros around town. Myself included. I loved seeing all my friends and coworkers tweeting during the game, not about the game itself but rather the commercials and the brands they each represented. Plus, it’s not like the Browns were in the game so my attention span was limited (oops!).

And now onto my top 3 2012 Super Bowl Commercials:

3. Chrysler – It’s Halftime in America – another home run for Chrysler. I love the style, the use of Clint Eastwood and the copywriting for this ad. Goosebumps!

2. Honda CR-V – Matthew’s Day Off – who doesn’t love Ferris Bueller? When I heard about this commercial, I was immediately excited along with every other 80’s movie fan. So fun!

1.  Bud Light – Here Weego – A rescue dog and Bud Light. Slam dunk in my opinion. I thought this commercial was fun and light-hearted.

Honorable Mention: NFL Timeline. I tend to be a fan of most NFL commercials and this was no exception. And I love that Canton, Ohio was trending on Twitter after this commercial aired.

Overall, this year I wasn’t super impressed with the commercials but I had a great time with some great people and loved hearing all of the varying opinions on Twitter and Facebook.

What were your favorites? Least favorites?

Our Iron Chef – #TeamSawyer

People that know me well can you tell you that I’m a Food Network addict. I absolutely heart some of those shows and my favorite is Iron Chef America. So of course, I wasn’t going to miss Chef Jonathan Sawyer of The Greenhouse Tavern on the show. So along with a hundred or so other Clevelanders/Twitter Friends/Bloggers, I headed Sunday night (the night before the new job was beginning!) to watch Iron Chef America with our own favorite – Chef Sawyer. Check out the hashtag – #teamsawyer. We weren’t messing around. Twitter crashed on a number of us!

Needless to say, it was a perfect night. I was able to hang out with some favorite people, have some amazing drinks at Greenhouse and see Chef Sawyer and his crew. And…we got to taste some of the food that Chef Sawyer made on the show…I DIE! I’m not kidding – delicious!

I loved the love that Chef Sawyer gave Cleveland. He makes this city proud. And despite the fact that the Iron Chef won, we all know who the real winners are here: Chef Sawyer, his team and the city of Cleveland.

Thanks Chef!
